My office will be closed December 24th-27th, though I will return emails over the weekend and whenever I can get to them throughout the holidays. To the two clients waiting for their orders, I will be calling you tomorrow to arrange drop off over the weekend. To my sweet friend, Carly, thank you so much for being patient with me while you wait for your prints.

These girls are friends and neighbors, and I love them. They are just sassy and sparkly and full of life. I did a few trades with my neighbors, which is always a fun break from work. I get to hang out with kids who know me a bit already, and the pressure's off, because I can always reschedule if they are not in the mood.
I also learned first hand about why proofing on the internet is inferior to in-person. Every monitor is so different unless it's calibrated, and yikes! It was a bit shocking to see my meticulously edited images online when I stopped by their house. Their mom will attest to the fact that the prints came back beautifully edited, even though they looked a little bit crazy on her monitor.
For those of you who are not photographers and are wondering about your monitors, there is a simple explanation that can help you adjust your settings to a reasonable level. http://www.photofriday.com/calibrate.php It only addresses brightness and contrast and not color tones at all. Photographers and anyone using their computer for image editing should calibrate with software to correct the tint of your monitor as well.
I am seriously considering implementing in-person proofing for 2008.
Anyway, on to the images. I did some cute family shots, too, but for anyone who knows me at all, I always show the kids.
My two favorites from the shoot: The girls looking at a helicopter, and those cute pink boots!
